The Seeking Indigo experience begins the moment the customer enters the

and evolution can take place for everyone that enters Seeking Indigo.... A doorway
to new possibility.”  We travel the world to bring you a unique experience taking the
best of the best that every culture has to offer in product with purpose and health

where all could come together to realize their dreams, those dreams began to manifest in front of our eyes.  When following one’s passion with purpose it becomes

Seeking Indigo is an ever evolving creative environment celebrating traditions, products, and wellness methodologies from afar, coupled with progressive healing modalities and authentic local finds from Charleston’s own backyard.

Fashion designer turned wellness visionary, Kathryn Peters, teamed up with Charlotte dentist, Blake Kingsbury, to roll out a new concept in health and wellness.  In the heart of downtown Charleston in Upper King Street’s design district lies a hidden gem.  A retail urban oasis occupies the front of this 6000 square foot facility.  Hidden behind a hand carved Indonesian Geybog “wall” rests the wellness center where ancient healing meets modern technology.   Services include Ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara and Ginger Compress, Japanese Facelift Massage, Biofeedback, Detox Foot Baths, Infrared Sauna, Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, Thai Massage, Morning Yoga Classes, and their signature Migun Massage Experience - a favorite of most clients. Shamans have commented that The Migun massage experience  lies under a 100 year old Joglo that is directly in line with a major vortex of Seeking Indigo and Charleston.

The Seeking Indigo experience begins the moment the customer enters the space.  Peters states, “We wanted to create an environment where transformation and evolution can take place for everyone that enters Seeking Indigo.... A doorway to new possibility.”  We travel the world to bring you a unique experience taking the best of the best that every culture has to offer in product with purpose and health and wellness.  It’s amazing that as soon as we set our intention to create a platform where all could come together to realize their dreams, those dreams began to manifest in front of our eyes.  When following one’s passion with purpose it becomes effortless.”

When a customer walks through our front door, they are met by a 9 foot waterfall of Ganesh that is keeper of sacred spaces.   As one meanders amongst the unique product from cultures near and far, they quickly understand this is a different experience than may have been expected while shopping in Charleston.  At the center of the store lies an intention bowl filled with floating candles and orchids where customers are encouraged to give gratitude while tossing an Indonesian coin into the water basin... Around the corner, within the space, is the “tea house” where a large screen TV shows the journey  to India where many of the beautiful home furnishings were  found;  bringing the experience of traveling the world right home to Charleston.

The combination of a retail store with a wellness center is just the beginning.  “We had no idea if Charleston was ready, but we were willing to give it a try” says Peters.  An now, the 3rd component to compliment the retail and wellness center is well underway.  Only 6 months  after starting this new venture the team is already busy working on a retreat center for release in 2011 on an island  just minutes from Charleston.  It is here that the Seeking Indigo  will be rolling out their “integral living” concept where practitioners from all walks of life will come together in an Island paradise setting to assist clients in experiencing a weekend of complete transformation.  Bringing together all cultures, practices and walks of life, Peters and Kingsbury, travel the world seeking to bring home that little bit of magic that they are able to experience on their journey.  Having just returned from the Kumba Mela (where they where photographed in one of the Sadu tents on the banks of the ganges similar to that which was replicated as the ceiling in the sanctuary of the Seeking Indigo wellness center) the dynamic duo are continually inspired to reach new levels of development.  By bettering  ourselves and  living life authentically, awake, aware and alert,  hopefully we will be able to serve as change agents in a world ready for true evolution.

Creating Seeking Indigo has been a dream that has finally manifested into reality for this trio. Kathryn Peters, who is the visionary and managing director of the  project, and  Blake Kingsbury, who focuses on the philosophy of the organization,  have implemented an integral philosophy which ensures this conscious business will flourish.

The book that most profoundly impacted our journey... The  Integral Vision  by Ken Wilbur which provides a road map upon which an integral approach to living can be applied. Our vision is that one day we will  all wake up.... and we see this beginning to happen, little by little,  it’s the subtle shifts that are taking place.  Everyday we are inspired by a story we hear or a person that walks through our door and shares with us a little magic in their own life . The world is changing.  It is time, We are ready!!!!  May Seeking Indigo provide a platform to support mind, body, spirit evolution. Seeking Indigo is a Charleston Wellness Center that offers healing Charleston Spa treatments from all corners of the world.
